Sylmasta AB Original Epoxy Putty Stick

Pre-formatted, easy-to-use stick of AB Original which removes the need to measure and mix separate components of resin and hardener

Description

AB Original Epoxy Putty Stick supplies Sylmasta’s super-strength universal repair putty in a combined pre-measured stick format rather than separate parts of resin and hardener.

Each Stick is 200g and contains resin on the outside and hardener in the middle, enabling easier mixing of the putty before repair. Instead of measuring out equal parts from two separate components, the user simply cuts off the required amount of putty from the Stick and kneads it by hand.

AB Original is ceramic-filled, making it harder wearing and stronger than most other epoxy putties. It has a working time of up to two hours, allowing for more of the material to be mixed, shaped and formed as needed before curing begins.

It bonds to metal, wood, brick, masonry, concrete, porcelain, ceramics, clay and most plastics. It seals holes and cracks in pipework, fills gaps, rebuilds areas of damage, insulates parts and can be used as a sacrificial layer against corrosion and chemical attack.

AB Original cures underwater and adheres well to wet surfaces. It is suitable in interior or exterior settings. Once cured, it can be tapped, drilled, screwed, sawed, machined, ground, filed, or painted.

Three colours of Sylmasta AB Original Epoxy Putty Stick are currently available – white, black and grey. Sticks are sold in quantities of 200g, 1kg, 5kg and 10kg. For AB Original Epoxy Putty Stick orders in excess of 10kg, please contact Sylmasta.

How to use a Sylmasta AB Original Epoxy Putty Stick

To use a Sylmasta AB Original Stick, you simply cut off the amount of epoxy putty required and knead it by hand until it turns a uniform colour.

Whilst soft, the putty is pushed into holes and cracks in pipes, metalwork and other materials where it will cure, sealing and filling areas of damage. For bonding, you apply the putty and use it to attach the pieces requiring repair together.

The two hour work time enables AB Original to be used in more complex jobs. The hand-kneadable consistency eliminates drips and runs, facilitates adhesion to the substrate, and allows the material to be shaped. It achieves a full cure in 24 hours and is resistant to water, chemicals, and temperature extremes.

AB Original Epoxy Putty contains no solvents or VOC’s, is non-flammable and releases no noxious fumes. It will not shrink or pull away when setting. The unused portion stays fresh for future use when saved in its original package.

Pipe repairs made with Sylmasta AB Original Epoxy Putty can be overwrapped with SylWrap HD Pipe Repair Bandage. SylWrap HD provides an impact-resistant, rock-hard layer of protection for a high-pressure repair.
