Coldglaze PRO 2 is the latest version of the highly acclaimed Coldglaze System, used by museums and professional china restorers. It has been specially developed for the reglazing of repairs on china and it cures to a tough, hard finish with excellent non-yellowing qualities.

Coldglaze will set to a very smooth high gloss finish. It has excellent water resistance and has been tested for 20 cycles in a dishwasher at 60°C without sign of deterioration.

TO ACHIEVE A MATT FINISH
For a matt finish, simply mix Sylmasta Matting Agent S532 with the Coldglaze PRO 2 to achieve desired finish.
Mix quantities: 70g~80g of Matting Agent per litre of Coldglaze PRO 2.

TO CREATE A WHITE GLAZE
For a white glaze, simply add Sylmasta Titanium Dioxide to the Coldglaze PRO 2, as desired.

TO AIRBRUSH
To the mixed Coldglaze PRO 2 add approximately 20% by volume of PRO 2 Thinners to obtain a suitable viscosity. Adjustments to the mix can be made, dependent upon desired finish.

TO HAND BRUSH
Sylmasta recommend the use of our high quality P51 Glazing Brush, made with the finest, softest white goat hair.

CLEANING UP
Use Coldglaze PRO 2 thinners for thinning and cleaning up.

NOTE TO EXISTING USERS
Tests have shown that a change to the mix ratio will give improved results. We now recommend a four to one mix, that is four parts resin to one part hardener.

RETARDER
We highly recommend the use of Retarder with Coldglaze.
Retarder will improve the finish when hand brushing, increading the cure time to allow the product to flatten and give a high gloss finish. When airbrushing, Retarder will reduce the overspray and reduce the cotton wool effect from the airbrush.

Coldglaze Retarder increases the working time of Coldglaze Professional 2 to improve adhesion and prevent cobwebbing when spraying.

Add Retarder to PT146 Thinners at a ratio of 5~10% by volume to prevent cobwebbing.

Retarder quantity can be increased up to 100% (with no thinners used at all) with a slight reduction in gloss.

This low temperature glaze is perfectly clear, non-yellowing and has low odour during firing.

Low Temperature Chinaglaze is normally fired at 80°C (176°F) for just 30 minutes, to give an excellent hard gloss finish with high strength surface adhesion.
