Assemble the mould by aligning the positive and negative registration keys. Use elastic bands to hold both halves tightly together, although ensure that they do not distort the rubber mould. |

Mix the casting resin, being sure not to create too many bubbles whilst doing so. A vacuum chamber can be used to remove any air bubbles formed during mixing. Draw up resin into a syringe (Sylmasta monojects are ideal) and slowly inject the resin into the inlet until it flows from the outlet. When injecting the resin, do not depress plunger all the way, as this may force air trapped in the syringe into the mould To ensure that the resin is air-free, squeeze the mould very lightly and gently tap it several times. Leave resin to cure where it will not be disturbed. Note: see instructions for mixing ratio and cure time for casting resin. |
|
Once the casting has cured, remove the elastic bands and carefully peel the two halves of the mould apart. |
